1What is it?
Two new stats — Magic Critical Rate and Magic Critical Damage — that only exist on specific equipment. With them, any magic skill (bolts, ball spells, AoE spells) has a chance to land as a critical hit, dealing extra damage and showing the same critical-hit visual physical attacks use.
Every magic hit rolls against your Magic Critical Rate.
On a success, the hit deals extra damage: a flat +50% baseline, plus your Magic Critical Damage stat.
A critical magic hit displays with the same red critical-hit number as a physical crit.
Multi-hit spells (like Jupitel Thunder) still show every individual hit, each critical.
2The formula
Both numbers come entirely from your equipped gear — nothing grants them by default.
Worked example: 50% Magic Critical Rate, 50% Magic Critical Damage.
3How you get it
4What it applies to
Any magic-type skill damage — bolts, ball spells, ground AoE spells like Storm Gust or Jupitel Thunder.
| Single-hit spells | Fire Bolt, Cold Bolt, a single Storm Gust tick — shows one red critical number. |
| Multi-hit spells | Jupitel Thunder and similar — every hit shows individually, each marked critical, instead of collapsing into one number. |
| Stacks with other magic bonuses | Applies on top of Zodiac's Aquarius (Magic Damage), Core System's Overload, and any other magic damage bonus you already have. |
5Where to check
6Good to know
| Base bonus | +50% damage on every magic crit, before any gear bonus is added. |
| Independent from physical crit | Your LUK-based physical Critical stat does not affect magic crit chance — they're separate systems. |
| Effect uptime | Always on once equipped — no activation needed |
